I don't know if there's a summer food that I associate more with summer than burgers and hot dogs. They're the quintessential picture of the American grill in the summer. That's not to say there aren't plenty of other incredible things to grill (check out some of our other recipes for that!) but today we're going to focus on the burger.
This is a simple recipe that you can make on the 4th of July. You can leave it as simple as you'd like or you can elevate it by customizing what kind of meat you use, the toppings you put on or even what you add to the meat.
Ingredients:
1.5 lbs. ground beef
2 tsp. J. Brady's Cowboy Shake
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
4 burger buns
Toppings:
Cheese
Bacon
Tomato
Lettuce
Onion
Avocado (or my Outlaw Guacamole)
Ketchup and Mustard
Preheat grill to medium-high heat and while it's heating up, get your burger patties ready.
Mix together the ground beef, Cowboy Shake, salt and pepper and form four equal portions, these will each be about six ounces, so if you'd like larger or smaller burgers you can adjust. Pat each portion into a burger shape, making sure you don't overmix the meat.
Grill until your desired doneness. Let the meat rest for a couple minutes and then add all of your favorite toppings, grab a beer and enjoy.
