Surf n' Turf

Surf n' Turf

What better way to ring in the new year than fancy appetizers as you sip champagne and hope for good things in the year to come. Nothing says fancy better than surf and turf and this recipe we've put together takes the classic dish and shrinks it down into a delicious finger food. Even better, it's incredibly simple. There are just a few ingredients, and it cooks up hot and fast on an indoor or outdoor grill. Thanks for everyone's support in 2023. Here's to a new year and we'll see you in 2024!

Ingredients:

-1 lbs. filet or sirloin steak, cut into 1-1/2" cubs.

-1 lbs. medium sized shrimp peeled and deveined

-J. Brady's Cowboy Shake

-olive oil

- 2 Tbsp melted butter

-1 Tbsps port or sherry

-small wooden skewers or large wooden cocktail toothpicks

Instructions:

Mix shrimp, steak, and a drizzle of olive oil in a bowl and coat well. Thread 2 shrimp and a piece of steak onto skewers or tooth picks. You should have the steak in between the 2 shrimp. Season both sides with J. Brady's Cowboy Shake. Heat an indoor grill plate or outdoor grill to medium high heat. Mix melted butter and sherry/port if using in a bowl and use for basting skewers. Cooks skewers for 3-4 minutes each side until shrimp is cooked through, but not rubbery and the steak is cooked medium with a nice char. Basted with butter mixture after turning. Serve with your favorite cocktail or drink and enjoy!
